Mr. Smith has a thirty-four year career including public accounting, business development and leadership. A native of Colorado, he is a graduate of Colorado State University. Mr. Smith started his career as a CPA with a big eight international where he acquired expertise in taxation, auditing and accounting. In 1983, Mr. Smith became the principal-in-charge and founder of JDS Professional Group, a Denver based accounting and consulting firm. His experience encompasses audits, tax consulting and general business for various types of entities and business sectors. Today, Mr. Smith remains as the managing partner of JDS Professional Group, one of Denver’s larger local-based accounting firms.
Mr. Smith also founded the OnePoint HR services group (human resources management related services), Assurance Financial Management (business HR, accounting and financial reporting services) and PeerSource Partners (technology talent sourcing, placement and contract provision). He serves as CEO/Managing member of those business groups.
During his career, Mr. Smith has gained considerable exposure and expertise in the real estate industry including legal structures, acquisition, tax aspects of real estate ownership and development, financing and capital formation. In addition to development of the Crescent real estate portfolio, he has assisted numerous individuals, groups and institutions with the development and management of real estate investments. In 2006, he founded Crescent Capital Holdings. His focus in the real estate industry remains acquisition, investment and sharing opportunities with private investment groups and institutions.
Mr. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado and has served as a member of the following American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Member, AICPA Tax Exempt Organizations Committee, Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), Continuing Professional Education Curriculum and Standards, Committee, Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, Management Task Force Committee, Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, Donor Option Eligibility Committee, United Way, American Society of Association Executives; Colorado Society of Association Executives; Finance Committee Chairman, United Way and Treasurer, Mile High United Way. He resides in Castle Rock, Colorado with his wife and extended family.
April Wilson serves as Director of Operations of Crescent Capital Holdings, LLC. April has nearly 20 years of mortgage and real estate experience and over her career has gained exceptional knowledge working as a Mortgage Loan Processor for several well-known banks in Colorado. She has also worked as a Loan Servicing Specialist for a private Colorado residential and commercial real estate investment firm prior to joining the Crescent Capital family.
